North American and African Operations

Rob Newburn
, V.P.- North American and African Operations

Mr. Newburn brings many years of drilling operation management experience to the position of VP, North American and African operations. He was promoted to this position after a successful stint managing the Townsville, Australia operation of Major Drilling.
 

Central & South American Operations

Robert Morgan
, V.P. - Business Development and Latin American Operations

Mr. Morgan obtained a Bachelor of Science degree (Geology and Business Administration) from St. Francis Xavier University in 1976 and joined the Company in 1980 as a drilling supervisor from which position he advanced first to regional manager, then to Vice President of Operations, and, most recently, to Vice President, Business Development and Latin American Operations.

Ed Wiebe, Regional Manager - Mexico and Central America

Mr. Wiebe has worked in the drilling industry for over 30 years, internationally for the past 20. He joined the Major group in 1992, becoming Branch Manager for Major Drilling's Mexico operation in 1993, before being promoted to his current position, which remains based in Mexico.

Daniel Lacharité,
Regional Manager – Guyana Shield, Ecuador and Colombia

Mr. Lacharité joined Major Drilling in 1975, becoming manager of our Dominik Drilling division in 1989. In 1993 he was promoted to the position of Regional Manager, and as such was instrumental in opening branches in Venezuela, Argentina, Central America, Tanzania and Turkey.  He is now responsible for the Guyana Shield region, including Venezuela, Suriname, and French Guiana.

Normand Doyon, Regional Manager – Argentina, Chile, and Bolivia

Mr. Doyon started in the drilling industries in 1985 with Forage Dominik, a branch of Major Drilling Group. Since 1993 he has worked in different countries in South America, including Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, and Argentina. He was promoted to manager of the Argentine operation in 1999, and to Regional Manager in 2003.

Australasian and Asian Operations

Ray Baldry, V.P. - Australian and Asian Operations
 

Mr. Baldry started in the drilling industry in 1985 as a Driller’s Assistant, progressing to Driller and Field Supervisor, which allowed him to gain a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of drilling techniques. In 1997, Major Drilling Group International acquired a company in Australia where Mr. Baldry held the position of Branch Manager and has since held several management positions within the group. These included Operations Manager Australia, International Operations Manager (Asia & Africa) and the most recent being General Manager Australia before taking up the position of Vice President Australian and Asian Operations.
