David B. Tennant
Director, Chairman of the Board
Mr. Tennant is a senior partner at McCarthy Tétrault, LLP, one of Canada’s largest law firms. He has been a partner at the firm since 1990, where he provides advice with respect to mergers and acquisitions, and securities laws.
Director, Director & CEO
Mr. Larocque joined Major Drilling in 1994 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer on September 11, 2015, having held the office of Chief Financial Officer since 2006. Previously, Mr. Larocque was Major’s VP Finance after rising in a series of roles with the Company. Through the period of geographic expansion for Major Drilling that saw it grow from a privately owned Canadian company to a publicly traded multinational, Mr. Larocque was involved in acquisitions and branch office setups in countries on every continent. Mr. Larocque holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Laval University and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1991.
Mr. Breiner is the former President and CEO of Schramm, Inc., a manufacturer of mobile tophead rotary drill rigs, located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA, where he continues to serve as a director. He has over 30 years of experience in the manufacturing, marketing and sales of drill rigs and construction equipment. Mr. Breiner holds a Bachelor of Science from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Dallas, Texas, and is certified in Production and Inventory Management awarded by APICS, the Association of Operations Management.
Mr. Desrosiers is retired from the position of Vice President – Mining Operations for GlencoreXstrata, where he was responsible for mining operations and exploration, having held that position since the acquisition by Xstrata Plc. of Falconbridge Ltd. in 2006. Prior to that, Mr. Desrosiers was Vice President Zinc fo Falconbridge and Noranda responsible for Zinc mining operations since 1998. Mr. Desrosiers graduated as a mining engineer in 1971 from Ecole Polytechnique in Montréal and has over 40 years’ experience in the mining business.
Fred J. Dyment
Mr. Dyment is an experienced senior executive and Board Director, with over 40 years of experience in the oil and natural gas industries. From 1978 to 2000, Mr. Dyment held increasingly senior positions with Ranger Oil Limited, including Chief Financial Officer, and President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Dyment also held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer at Maxx Petroleum Company from 2000 to 2001. He is currently a director of several public companies.
David A. Fennell
After graduating from the University of North Dakota in 1974, Mr. Fennell combined a career as a professional football player with a career in law. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 1978 and was called to the bar in 1979. He practiced law primarily in the natural resources area until 1984 when he founded exploration company Golden Star Resources Ltd. In 1998, Mr. Fennell left Golden Star to become Chairman and CEO of Cambiex Explorations Ltd., which became Hope Bay Gold Corporation. He held this position until the merger of Hope Bay and Miramar where he continued as Executive Vice-Chairman and Director for the combined entity until 2007. He is currently a director of several public companies.
Francis P. McGuire
Mr. McGuire was President and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation from August, 2000 to September 2015. Mr. McGuire has also served as Deputy Minister of the Department of Economic Development and Tourism of New Brunswick. He holds an M.A. in international studies, trade and economics from Johns Hopkins University, a diploma in European politics from the Institut d’Études Politiques in Paris and a B.A. from Dalhousie University.
Ms. McLeod-Seltzer has been a founder of numerous mining ventures such as Arequipa Resources, Francisco Gold, Peru Copper, Bear Creek Mining, Stornoway Diamonds and Pacific Rim Mining, and in addition has been an independent director of numerous other companies. She brings extensive knowledge of mining finance and public relations as well as her exceptional reputation and network of industry contacts to Major Drilling’s Board of Directors. She is currently a director of several public companies.
Janice G. Rennie
Ms. Rennie is a graduate of the University of Alberta (BComm.) and a Chartered Accountant. She was Sr. Vice President, Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness for Epcor Utilities Inc. from 2004 to 2005. Prior to 2004 she was Principal of Rennie & Associates, which provided investment and related advice to small and mid-size companies. She is currently a director of several public companies.
Jo Mark Zurel
Mr. Zurel is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University. From 1998 to 2006 Mr. Zurel was Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of CHC Helicopter Corporation. Mr. Zurel is currently President/Owner of Stonebridge Capital Inc., a private investment company that invests in a variety of businesses, including Atlantic Canadian start-up and high-growth companies. In addition to his role with Major Drilling he is a director several other public and private companies and non-profit organizations.
